NHLPA to argue for stiffer suspensions?

That's the rumor out of Philly

It would not necessarily be to argue against the length of a suspension, but sometimes to argue for more severe punishment. Kelly says his job is to protect all players, especially those injured via head shots, high elbows, etc., not just the guys docked in pay. What a refreshing change: a union guy who advocates tough love.

"We should be consulted before a decision is made public," Kelly said Thursday night after he met for 90 minutes with the Flyers to discuss union matters. "Colin Campbell should contact us and give us his initial thoughts, and then hear our impressions of the matter.

Aebischer Done?

Goalie David Aebischer cleared waivers on Wednesday and was reassigned to AHL San Antonio. Aebischer, 29, played one game for the Coyotes, on Oct. 10, when he stopped 30-of-33 shots in a loss at Columbus. The team waived him on Tuesday, but there were no takers. Signed in the offseason, Aebischer was supposed to be the team's potential No. 1 goalie.

Yahoo Fantasy Hockey Draft 2007-08 begins...

Hey guys, here we are again, 2007 edition. We're looking for guys to fill up this year's league. Last year we had 20 teams, this year we're looking for 12 to 15. If we get enough entries, we might bump it up.

All we ask is that if you wish to join, you must play till the end of the season(updating rosters every now and then, making player transactions, answering trade requests via email). If you're not into that, then please refrain from joining. Inactive teams tend to suck the life out of the entire league, and it's all around better and entertaining for everyone when all the teams are involved and participating.

So that's it, I'll change the draft status to ready on the 25th and the autodraft should begin after that in time for the 29th kickoff.
